Took these portraits of my beautiful friend, Theresa, last weekend. She is such a lovely person inside and out, I was hopeful to capture at least a bit of her beauty and style. Erica and Beth were my team this time, helping with makeup, hair, and assisting me with the shoot. I've had quite a lot of practice doing more closeup portraits now and I'm enjoying it. I used to feel so intimidated by getting close to a person's face and hoping to catch a good angle. I still need to get better at the editing process though. It's hard to find a balance between smoothing out the skin and rubbing their features clean off! Then, sometimes the photo looks perfect inside photoshop, but once I resize the photo and look at it on the blog, the editing looks obvious. These were taken with my Nikon D800 and 85mm lens at between f1.8 to f2.5. The closeups are at shutter 1/125 and ISO 100. The forest body shots are 1/320 and ISO 250.
