
I made these cupcakes a few times over the holidays and took the opportunity to slow down with food photography. I love practicing with layering, balance and textures. You can see a pic of my lighting setup at the bottom of this post. It's very simple....a glass patio door on the right and two silver reflectors at the top and left. Then I stand on a chair and shoot from the bottom of the scene. I adapted the recipe and reduced the amount of sugar they called for in the cupcakes to 1 cup. That way they come out like a dark chocolate cake. Hope everyone is having a blessed New Year so far!
